This Privacy Policy explains how CabRadar ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, stores, and deletes information when you use the CabRadar mobile application available on Google Play and our website at cabradar.app.

This policy applies to all users. It explains our practices in plain language so you can understand what data we collect and your choices.

1. Who we are

CabRadar is a mobile app for licensed taxi and private-hire drivers. We provide traffic, disruption, and transport-related information in real time.

2. Information we collect

We collect only the minimum information needed to operate CabRadar:

• Account information (persistent) — your email address, used to create and maintain your CabRadar account.
• Location information (ephemeral) — if you grant permission, your device location is processed temporarily to provide nearby alerts and dedupe notifications. Location data is streamed to our backend, stored in Redis for up to one hour, and automatically deleted.
• Device information — device type, operating system, app version, and push notification token (if enabled).
• User-generated content — disruption or road reports you submit.
• Usage and diagnostic data — technical logs required to operate and secure the Service.

3. Google user data

If you sign in with Google, CabRadar uses Google Sign-In via Firebase Authentication. Google shares the following information with us for authentication purposes only:

• Your email address
• Your display name
• Your Google account ID (a unique identifier)
• Your profile picture URL, if available

How we use Google user data:

• To create and manage your CabRadar account
• To authenticate you
• To associate your submitted reports with your account
• To respond to support requests
• To maintain security

What we do not do:

• We do not sell Google user data
• We do not use Google user data for advertising
• We do not access Gmail, Drive, Calendar, Contacts, or other Google services
• We do not share Google user data except with service providers needed to operate CabRadar

Google's use of information is governed by Google's Privacy Policy. You can revoke CabRadar's access at any time via your Google Account permissions.

Limited Use disclosure: CabRadar's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

4. Email magic link sign-in

If you sign in using an email magic link, we collect your email address to send the link and maintain your account.

5. How we use information

• Provide and improve the Service
• Display location-relevant traffic and disruption information
• Send optional push notifications
• Process user-submitted reports
• Prevent abuse and maintain security
• Respond to support requests

6. Third-party service providers

We use trusted providers to operate CabRadar:

• Google Firebase — authentication, infrastructure, messaging
• Google Sign-In — optional account sign-in
• Mapbox — map display
• Cloudflare — hosting and backend services

7. Data sharing

We do not sell personal information. We may share data only with service providers listed above, when required by law, or to protect rights and safety. User-submitted disruption reports may be visible to other users.

8. Data retention

Account email is retained while your account is active. Technical logs are retained for a limited operational period. Location data expires automatically within one hour.

9. How to request deletion

You may request deletion of your CabRadar account and associated personal data:

1. Email hellocabradar@gmail.com from the email linked to your account.
2. Use the subject line: Account deletion request.
3. We will delete your account data within 30 days unless retention is required for legal or security reasons.

Revoking Google Sign-In access prevents future sign-ins but does not delete stored account data — email us for full deletion.

10. Your rights

Depending on your location (including UK/EEA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of your data. Contact hellocabradar@gmail.com to exercise these rights.

11. Permissions

Location: Used only with your permission. Processed temporarily and expires automatically within one hour.

Notifications: Optional and controlled by your device settings.

12. Security

We use HTTPS encryption and industry-standard authentication practices. No system is completely secure.

13. Children

CabRadar is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

14. International transfers

Data may be processed in countries where our providers operate. We use appropriate safeguards where required.

15. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy and will post changes on this page with an updated date.
